Jesus is the great absentee in the Atlantis story. Zeus deprives Him of the role of punishing Atlantis. Thus the almighty God of Heaven and Earth is dethroned from His omnipotence. Zeus is the Greek expression of Baal Tsaphon which is the Sphinx. Baal Tsaphon takes the place of the God of the Bible. He brutally punishes Atlantis until it doesn’t surface again. The same thing happens with End-time Babylon which goes down and becomes desolate according to Jeremiah 51. The equivalent of Babylon was Tire, foretold at Ezekiel 26-28, destroyed by Alexander the Great. At Mark 7:31, Jesus visited Tire who had apparently been somewhat restored. But the temple of Melqart / Heracles was gone. If Tire was a picture of Atlantis then Jesus came after her downfall. In Genesis 3:15 we read that a distant descendant of Eve will bruise the serpent’s head. We now know that this is the resurrected Jesus. We don’t read anything like that in the Atlantis story. Here it is Zeus who punishes Atlantis and Poseidon, not the predicted Christ.
