The shifting with the location of Atlantis has to do with us not being able to find Atlantis in the right place; where Plato placed the island. This shift of locations has a counterpart in End Time Babylon. The 2000 years since the resurrection in AD 30 is almost over. We still don’t see the Third Temple anywhere in Jerusalem. And we don’t see Babylon rebuilt either. Instead, we see how, for example, Dubai was washed out of the clods. And the city of Neom is being rebuilt in Saudi Arabia and is the likely fulfillment of End Times Edom. Believers are challenged to keep promising in God’s word right now. In Zechariah 5:11 we read that the rebuilding of Babylon is a Jewish project on the Euphrates. Maybe only a World Trade Center will be built, maybe just an old warehouse in which some computers will be quickly placed. Or perhaps Babylon will be literally conjured up this time. Nobody knows. But the fact that we don’t see anything of a rebuilt Babylon just keeps the doubt about Atlantis alive. Soon when Revelation 17 is fulfilled, we will understand much better what Plato wrote about in his Atlantis story.
